Supply Chain Analytics - Dashboards

• Tasked with building a self serve solution to reduce the time required to service customer queries and to provide the business with a tool to monitor the performance of departments, products, and orders with respect to delays in deliveries.
• Performed cleansing, de-duplication, and type conversion of data (180k+ records) and built a BI dashboard with slicers and KPIs to explore insights from 6 dimensions.
• Constructed a star schema data model with five tables by identifying the primary keys, ensuring one-to-one and one-to-many cardinality.
• Conducted qualitative analyses on available metrics and provided recommendations to improve shipping delays to maximize visibility and usefulness to the customer service and logistics teams.

Data Analysis Insights

Delivery delays are caused by shipping delays. All orders delivered late are shipped late from the warehouse.

Delays in shipping required further analysis to determine if the delays are due to shipping partner(s) or for internal reasons.

Further analysis revealed the following:

1. Products were ready but the shipping partner delayed the shipping. (External)
2. Products were available in the warehouse but unable to arrange shipping. (Internal)
3. Products were not available in the warehouse. (Internal)
